Long Lasting Outdoor Patio Sets

A Large Variety of Outdoor Patio Sets

The patio is an outdoor extension of your home and should reflect the style of the home, whether it is a Spanish, Asian or country style.  The area can be large and require outdoor patio sets that have lots of pieces or it may be a small area requiring a couple of chairs and a bistro table.

With the many types of furniture available your choices and options are almost endless.  As the homeowner you may want to keep with the style of your home or go in a whole new direction.

Wicker Outdoor Patio Sets

One of the most common materials for outdoor patio sets is wicker. Some designs have integrated wicker with wrought iron making for a very beautiful combination.

Some designs are made entirely of wicker and these are also very laid back and classic patio or outdoor furniture designs. Wicker has long been favored as an ideal material for outdoor furniture since several centuries ago because of the natural and intricate weaves that some designs have.

Long Lasting Iron Outdoor Patio Sets

Iron is a durable material that can be more expensive then wicker but will last years longer.  Iron patio furniture has a very traditional and classic look.  You can choose many different styles and fabrics for the cushions to go with the style of your home.

The wrought iron patio furniture has a reputation for corroding.  There are many different finishes available today that are baked on and can protect the iron guaranteeing it to last a lifetime.

Many of the wicker patio furniture sets can also be coated with a protective finish to guard against sun damage. These finishes may need to be re-applied from year to year.

Stone or Marble Outdoor Patio Sets

The sturdiest and probably the easiest to care for of all patio furniture materials is stone and marble.  Although very heavy, a stone bench or table will last forever and will fit in well with any style home.

Although very heavy and requiring several very strong friends to help you set them in place, stone or marble patio furniture will not give way under the weight of a large adult or tip when a small child climbs up on it.

Choosing the right set for your patio can be difficult especially since the choices and design today are very beautiful and varied. It is best to get the feel of your patio first before choosing a furniture set. Other things that you might need to consider are the plants and landscape design of the area.
